4YO Primed For Sharp First-Up Run At Sandown On Wednesday: Adam Curkpatrick

Feature midweek racing on Wednesday south of the border is at Sandown where The Race Club’s Adam Curkpatrick is eyeing a 4YO to set the track alight first-up.

For his value bet, the Race Club expert is extremely confident a 4YO mare will step up in the 4th

Best Bet

Sandown (Wednesday)

Race 8, 1400m

Rheinberg ($3.40, $1.60)

Rheinberg ($3.40, $1.60) is one I was keen on last week resuming, however scratched and lobs here in what looks an even better assignment.

There was some niggle at 1200m being too sharp first-up, although I was comfortable enough given the lead in work.

They’ve now opted for the 1400m first-up and I believe him to have a good amount of upside to follow.

Value Bet

Race 4, 1200m

Extreme Step ($4.40, $1.80)

Competitive enough race, however I liked the work of Extreme Step ($4.40) at the jump outs, particularly the latest hit out, zipping past subsequent Saturday winner Sky Wolf.

I believe the race sets up quite softly for her resuming and she gets in well with the claim.

I have enough reservations on the others in the market and have warmed to the late strength of Extreme Step

Tip: Win
