The Race Club’s Adam Curkpatrick has his eyes firmly fixed on a 5YO mare to take advantage of a race with not a lot of speed engaged at Sandown on Wednesday.
For his value bet, the racing expert has a sassy pick at a value quote in the 3rd.
Best Bet
Sandown (Wednesday)
Race 4, 1500m
Pontificate ($10.00, $2.90)
Closed off extremely well in a recent jump out and I expect she is back quite forward for her fourth prep.
She returned in great fashion last prep, before going on to be competitive in a solid rating race at The Valley.
Not a heck of a lot of speed engaged, so if they elect to press, I doubt they’re doing much early work.
If forward in the yard, I think she is the horse they all have to beat.
Tip: Win

Value Bet
Race 3, 1200m
Sassy Boom ($6.00, $2.60)
Really liked the lead in jump out of Sassy Boom ($6.00), quickening and holding a margin on rivals.
She resumed in great fashion last prep before running down off a taxing run in the Sires.
She sets up to sit outside the favourite, or drop in if one of the others kick up.
I believe the favourite Coincide ($2.20) and other key chance Pantelone ($5.00) are a little vulnerable at the trip, making Sassy Boom a solid value proposition to them.
Tip: Win
Sassy Boom raced clear to win tonight’s Magic Millions Tasmanian 2YO Classic for @DOBrienRacing and @LiamRiordan97. She is owned by a large ladies syndicate and also swept a $10,000 Magic Millions Racing Women Bonus! pic.twitter.com/58qXZAKBrn
