Racing expert Adam Curkpatrick is backing a sharp 5YO to upset the favourite at Flemington on Saturday.
For his value bet, the racing guru is all over a 6YO at big odds to relish a drop back in trip.
Best Bet
Flemington (Saturday)
Race 4, 1100m
Poland ($4.60, $1.75)
Not a first-up performer on paper, however this is a little different and the two jump outs leading in have been too sharp to ignore.
He has run time under his own will in the latest of those, and I think he is very good value to the favourite, Sigh ($2.45) and I’m happy to make him the best of the day.
Tip: Win
Value Bet
Race 6, 1420m
Riddle Me That ($11.00, $3.50)
Riddle Me That ($11.00, $3.50) is suited back to 1400m off a fast run mile race, where he performed admirably.
He finished side by side King Magnus ($4.80) prior at Sandown, with that runner subsequently winning twice.
He has been hit at the weights due to that, and now Riddle Me That meets him significantly better and I think a superior set up.
There is enough in his price and he is the value play for me today.
Tip: Win
