A strong contingent of runners from the Price/Kent stable hit the track at Caulfield on Saturday and the stable is pinning its hopes on a 3YO to take advantage of a race bereft of speed.

Caulfield (Saturday)
Race 3, 2000m
Artzino ($3.50, $1.55)
These are my best chances, I reckon.
I’m not underestimating Upwoods ($51.00, $12.00) and he goes back to 3YO company, which is good.
Artzino ($3.50, $1.55) had no joy the other day, Wiremu Pinn rode him and just got rolling on him, got going way too early, so I’m just going to go forward on Artzino.
I don’t think there is a lot of speed, maybe Makalu ($15.00, $4.00) and Torranzino ($7.00, $2.35), but I hate those muddly run races.
So both of my horses, Upwoods you’ll find that we should be boxed and Artzino, going to go forward.
That race is my best chance on Saturday to win a race.

Race 9, 1700m
French Emperor ($5.00, $2.00)
French Emperor ($5.00, $2.00) goes good when he draws low and gets a smother.
So, I’m just in a discussion with the owner of whether we should run or should not run.
I’’d probably run with Ben Melham on because I think there’s a bit of speed in that race if we can get cover.
But if he doesn’t get cover and he pulls, he doesn’t win.
