Consistent Galloper To Handle Extra Trip At The Valley On Saturday: Busuttin & Young

The Busuttin & Young stable unleash a four-pronged attack at The Valley on Saturday but the stable’s top chance is ready to explode in his maiden run in the prep at the extra trip.

For their value bet, the stable is backing a missing star to bounce back with a thump at a juicy double-digit quote.

Moonee Valley (Saturday)

Race 7, 2040m

Brayden Star ($3.20, $1.38)

Comes up at reasonably short odds.

Stepping out for the first time this prep over 2000m which we think will really suit him.

He’s very consistent obviously, he hasn’t let us down yet, I don’t think he’s missed a place so I hope that’s the case again on Saturday.

He looks very hard to beat, he’s weighted 53kgs, he should be able to sit a bit closer to the speed over 2000m which he has done previously in his race and he obviously looks extremely hard to beat.

I think he’s naturally our best bet for the stable.

Value Bet

Race 4, 1600m

Riverplate ($12.00, $3.70)

He’s gone missing the past couple of starts through various reasons but I think he can bounce back and run extremely well on Saturday.

He’s got Damien Oliver on board who has won on the horse previously and the horse is going super in his trackwork.

He’s had a bit of a freshen up since his last race in Sydney.

Back to the mile, he’s got a wide gate to overcome which is always tricky but given the fact he gets up on speed and Moonee Valley obviously suits front runners, I think he can give a big kick on Saturday and defy his double figure price.

I think he’s a genuine each-way chance in the race.

Tip: Win
