Wound Up 3YO To Roll Back The Years At Moonee Valley On Saturday: Adam Curkpatrick

Feature racing in Melbourne on Saturday is at The Valley and The Race Club’s Adam Curkpatrick is backing a wound up 3YO to be the one to beat.

For his value bet, the racing expert is tipping a beauty to shine at a nice price in the 6th.

Best Bet

Moonee Valley (Saturday)

Race 1, 1200m

The Years ($4.60, $1.65)

The Years donkey licked them in two jump outs this time in, and whilst the times were ok, he was very soft over the concluding stages.

The gelding may be the making of him, showing plenty enough in his debut prep to think he had some upside.

He was very good behind subsequent Sires and Champagne winner Militarize on debut before winning in great vain at Kembla and going on to run very well in the Black Opal behind the stablemate Autumn Ballet who has since come out and won the Silver Shadow last week.

Amur had his measure in the Baillieu, however plenty of excuses there.

Forward in running and if the stable have him wound up, he takes getting past.

Tip: Win

Value Bet

Race 6, 1200m

Beauty Rising ($8.50, $2.80)

Beauty Rising has moved well at the jump outs leading in and looks to have furnished over the break.

She went out a strong winner at Sandown, and anything near that figure, she’ll take some holding out.

I expect ample speed, with the Griffith De Kock’s Iphimedia and Waterhouse Bott’s Oz Empress both pressing.

She only needs even luck to find a spot and I’m confident she is in the finish.

Tip: Win
