The Race Club’s Adam Curkpatrick says the lure of a triple treat won’t be a poisoned chalice for a flying 4YO at Sandown on Wednesday.
For his value bet, the racing expert is backing a 4YO mare with an electric turn of foot to light things up at a juicy quote.
Best Bet – Sandown (Wednesday)
POISON CHALICE ($2.25, $1.40), Race 4, 1600m.
The weight, coupled with Aseventy Seven ($6.50) setting above evens are the only real concerns with Poison Chalice, coming in on the back of two strong wins, suffering adversity in run in both.
Days between runs good, map good and nothing possesses the acceleration he does.
So long as not ridden up, we should see a big finish again.
Tip: Win

Value Bet
AMATI ($8.00, $2.50), Race 4, 1600m.
If Amati is ticked up enough for this, she’ll take all sorts of holding out.
She produced an electric turn of foot when second-up off a let-up last time in work, running top meet figures.
Her prior first-up performance, she returned very well with the track against.
Her Jump Outs haven’t been testing and obviously she has bigger aspirations this prep, however I believe this is a good kick off point for her.
Aiming ($8.00) has worked well leading in and is a key hope from the front.
Tip: Win
