2017 – Redzel takes out Everest opener

Won the inaugural Weight For Age Thoroughbred horse race run over 1200m in 2017.

Redzel claimed the World Record $10 million in prize money.

Trained by Peter and Paul Snowden and ridden by Kerrin McEvoy, Redzel shared the lead with Houtzen before stamping his authority at the 300m mark to win the race.

2018 – Everest champ Redzel goes back-to-back

Defended his title in 2018 and is the only horse to win back-to-back races.

Redzel had the inside gate and used it to his advantage to take control of the race on a preferred soft track.

The large Triple Crown Syndicate members had no concerns when Redzel topped the rise and race away from Trapeze Artist and 3 lengths back to Osborne Bulls.

With prize money increasing to a whopping $13 million, the race attracted attention from all around the world.

2021 – Nature Strip breaks Everest duck

In 2021 the world’s best sprinter, Nature Strip, was having his 3rd attempt at the title and did not disappoint his followers.

Expertly steered by leading jockey James McDonald, the Chris Waller-trained star managed to cross the field from a wide draw and was never headed in the straight.

With the race growing in stature, the prize pool increased by another $ 2million to $15 million.
