The flying Busuttin & Young Stable saddle-up some big chances in Melbourne’s big metro meeting at Sandown on Saturday.
But their best bet comes late in the card as a gun jockey from the west jumps aboard the stable’s best hope for the weekend.
Best Bet
Sandown (Saturday)
Race 9, 1800m
Alverdun ($8.00, $2.70)
Has drawn barrier 11 and has got the services of gun West Australian Luke Campbell.
He will not know himself, 52 kilos off his back, gets in with no weight on an affected track he will relish.
Loves the cut out of the ground, 10 top 3 finishes from his 15 starts and he bolted in here two back and he could set up similarly for him on Saturday.
Terrific Each-Way odds and he’s clearly the stable’s best chance of the weekend at the price.
Put your faith in him on Saturday.
Tip: Each-Way

Next Best
Sandown
Race 8, 1300m
He’s Our Bonneval ($ 3.50, $1.60)
Importantly for this horse, he’s going to drop 3 kilos in the weights, gets in well at 58.5kg after Wiremu Pinn’s claim and from the barrier in 11, he’ll find something to be able to tag into the race.
He’s a horse with a short sharp turn of foot, really only got it for 200m tops.
So if he can be ridden to launch late, he’s coming to come like a train and is a well justified favourite around $3.
We’d love to see him stick his head out and he can win.
Tip: Win
He's Our Bonneval gets the job done for @busuttin and finishes a strong day of racing at Caulfield! pic.twitter.com/aheD2yYeC6
